Confessions of a moodless mind………..
Tonight is one of those nights where i stare at the skies and try to think of something and nothing comes to my mind…
Normally, i have a lot to say.. to share.. not today.. strange.. the words just dried up on me.. i wanted to close the blog and forget about writing an entry today but on second thoughts, i wanted to share this wordless feelings with you…
Hope everyone is doing something fullfilling tonight…

Remember…
Of course I remember…
But don’t you think that it’s strange that people are named after food.
Best part is you don’t eat bazang, carrot cake or apple in the same meal.
Don’t go together…
Come to think of it, no wonder we were not together. The name destined liao ![]()
Bittersweet? Guess it turn out to be the best…
Faye Wong – Eyes On Me
=======================
Whenever sang my songs
On the stage, on my own
Whenever said the words
Wishing they would be heard
I saw you smiling at me
Was it real or just my fantasy
You’d always be there in the corner
Of this tiny little bar
My last night here for you
Same old songs, just once more
My last night here with you?
Maybe yes, maybe no
I kind of liked it your way
How you shyly placed your eyes on me
Oh, did you ever know?
That I had mine on you
Darling, so there you are
With that look on your face
As if you’re never hurt
As if you’re never down
Shall I be the one for you
Who pinches you softly but sure
If frown is shown then
I will know that you are no dreamer
So let me come to you
Close as I wanted to be
Close enough for me
To feel your heart beating fast
And stay there as I whisper
How I loved your peaceful eyes on me
Did you ever know?
That I had mine on you
Darling, so share with me
Your love if you have enough
Your tears if your’re holding back
Or pain if that’s what it is
How can I let you know
I’m more than the dress and the voice
Just reach me out then
You will know that you’re not dreaming
Darling, so there you are
With that look on your face
As if you’re never hurt
As if you’re never down
Shall I be the one for you
Who pinches you softly but sure
If frown is shown then
I will know that you are no dreamer

Which Pokemon Am I?
My good friend sings with me “Are you going to Scarborough fair?” as we discuss swords at Hua Shan.
Bazang for a reason
Pokemon, I think your memory is failing u, u mean u can’t remember why the bazang name was given? THen u remember why apple was given that name?
Btw, is Regina the gal from RV? And Weili the girl from Hwa Chong? If so, I think how they look like.
Looks like I m having a “date” with “De’er” in a foreign land soon. Last call, any interested party to join in? Flying out on the 10th or 11th July.
Spill my coffee this morning. Luckily got an additional dosage from her.

Thanks
Hi Sweet Heart,
Thanks for the info. I have edited out his email and mobile number to protect his privacy. Our council song can be found in one of the handbooks…I think the 21st SC had upgraded our council song to xiao yuan ge qu.
Quitter & Matrix, thanks for your sms. Appreciated with a capital A
Some day I hope I can return the favour.

Which Pokemon Am I?
My good friend sign off as field heart (as in padi field) which sounds like sweet heart.
community service
ok, no problem with the council song. i’m quite relaxed at work lately
my memory only has bits and pieces of the lyrics remaining. where can i get the full lyrics?
roland’s email is rolandgoh at xxx.com. Shanghai hp is xxx. met him when i was in shanghai in early may. he is working very very very hard.
Chinese Characters
Yup, the chinese characters can be seen. Therefore it looks like OSP has the task of entering the council song here
Three cheers for the president!
Will be doing my disappearing act at Shanghai next week. Is Roland supposed to be there? Anyone’s got his contact? ie. does his untouchables email still works?
For all the adults out there, please note that a pokemon is a pocket monster. The yellow cute cute thing is called pikachu. When he’s using his power, which is giving out electrical energy, he will say “Piii kaa Chu!”. The rest of the time, he will just say “pika pika”.
Which brings me to my point: pokemon <> pikachu. Pikachu is a subset of Pokemon. Therefore, I may not be pikachu. Just before the commercial, the toon will show a silhouette of a pokemon and ask the viewers “Which pokemon am I?” and the viewers are supposed to guess the correct pokemon before the answer is revealed.

Which Pokemon Am I?
My good friend for some strange reasons, is named after something we eat when a premier jumps into a river.
pokemon, tweety bird, mashimaro
good morning
MP: ya, according to my colleague, wanqing and jim are no longer an item. wanqing is seeing someone else now, and she works as auditor in a wine and spirits company in orchard. i’m so glad you asked, i was dying to put this down in my posting yesterday but thot it would be too gossipy… kekeke… she is still in touch with weili, who is now in china. thot you’d know regina, actually i dunno who she is ;p she said weili slimmed down.. think the last time i saw her was at your wedding…
pokemon and tweety bird are both my favourite cartoon characters. i keep a little pokemon toy in my cupboard. later on, i got to know mashimaro, then it became my all time favourite, especially after i saw some cartoon strips on it. mashimaro’s chinese name is 贱兔, and it’s really 贱 in a very funny way. i got 5 mashimaros at home, ranging from big to very small. sometimes i like to queue them up, and the biggest one shakes to the tune of besame mucho
hey, can the chinese characters above be read? if so, we can document our song here in chinese and do away with translation.
Small world…
OPS, welcome on board..
its so funny isn’t it? me and my hubby just talk abt Wanqing the other day, coz we saw her room mate (from Hall 3, remember?) at one of the wedding last week… and there you are talking abt Wanqing too!
Regina? which Regina? from St Nicks?
and you mean Jim is not with WQ after all? hmmm, sounds like gossip already…. (
another small world, was just chitchatting with my colleagues-friends abt Spore Idol and was commenting ‘Oh think my friend’s gf got into the second round…’ and my colleague-friend responded immediately ‘Linda?’ and i was like speechless…. i refused to believe we were talking abt the same linda… coz how can the world be so small?? but after much ‘verification’… yes we were talking abt the same linda….
Going around the world in 80 minutes & not 80 days.
Pokemon…. why is pokemon a pokemon? and not tweety since they are both yellow anyway?… hahaha, ignore me… have too much coffee for the morning…
Citylink Gal…
Our song……our space…
Yo untouchables,
can someone do me a favour and blog down our council song?
thought that would be fun..hee hee to capture our song in this space on the net…
our song in our space…
hmm yes i know it is in chinese.. but what the heck, i am sure some smart untouchable can do a word for word translation… or even put it down in hanyu pin yin.. ha…
game on? definately…

Sounds like Sweet Heart
Hi Sounds-like-Sweet-Heart,
Nice to see you here. It’s been quite a while isn’t it? And you have been getting very thin…way too thin if you ask me
Actually I think it’s quite interesting isn’t it? to guess who’s the one doing the writing? We used to be able to tell from the writing in the council diary…now we have to look for contextual clues, the style of writing etc. quite fun leh
Quitter…no i did not forget you. I ALWAYS call you from sofitel. Just that the deal is still dilly dallying around…so I have not been there since the last time I met you at Victory Monument. Silly you… how can i forget you ;P
Am I the only one that feels so happy and excited whenever I meet an untouchable? Even if we may hi-bye (though I dun think I have done that), I will walk away…and immediately think of all the things that had happened…the sweet memories.

Which Pokemon Am I?
My good friend who is a quitter has an apartment that overlooks a swimming pool where couples frequently frolick.
No need to guess, i am osp
oops, who is osp?
so grateful that alice reminded me about the blog. i really almost forgot it exists. i was following the emails which talked about wanting to dig out old fotos and do an album… then some great mango that even has an ego came up with a bright idea using some technology which allows posting entries like our council diary. then there became too many things to follow up that i could not catch up. then i lost track.
that’s the most dangerous part. sometimes the things that matter least, we spent the most time. the things that matter most, we spent the least time.
who was saying the world is very small? i had lunch with a new colleague today. she turned out to be the very close friend of Wanqing (NTU hall 3?) and Regina (Meiping, you remember?). just last week i bumped into Jim, the guy from hall 3 whom Wanqing used to be seen often with? yes it was hi-bye. i did not scram, but i think he tried. ha!
a few mths ago on a saturday evening i went to chinatown mrt station. from a distance i spotted jianshun. what a coincidence! so i went to hide behind a pillar and sms him asking if he was wearing a striped shirt of i can’t remember what color. he wasn’t amused. so i went up to him to say hello. after we parted, when i was heading up the escalator, i saw a yellow pokemon bouncing towards me. wow! i can’t believe my luck that day
so what was the championship gummi was so much looking forward to? mj? who is quitter?
Kelvin responding to “Remember This”
I stared at the picture for quite a while actually. Though the resolution wasn’t great, I could make out 60 to 70% of the people in the pic…wow. Eugene, thank you for scanning this in. It brought lotsa memories back…

Who am I?
Well, I just read the posts and it was so confusing as they are either nameless or with nicknames. Since you all like the guessing game:
I didn’t shop at Citylink for the past month
I’m not a yellow Japanese creature
My mask is not black
I didn’t appear as passer-by in your stories
My sign-off doesn’t have a fruity taste
And probably the greatest hint:
I don’t give a $%@$$^@#%$&& who won the Euro-cup…
So Who-o-o-o am I?

hear ye…hear ye…
oh no.. u stayers….
talking about avoiding eye contact in a tiny island…
while the world is in doldrums..
woah..hahaha…
getting slightly boozed out… from the drinks my boss bought for an early friday happy hour…
now is that a nice thought or what..
ms citylink: the only thing that is constant is change
pokemon: never calls when at sofitel anymore, but am still in contact with him. am i ?
lawyer: now if u would only say 2 words… sweden might just win the euro
~ quittter who didn’t have bak chang on duan wu jie
SZ wrote “not the only one”
it’s me who wrote that one & it’s me who asked for advice on the bet…
but thanks eugene, think will still take your advice to spend my $$$$ on beer & nuts… later… hehe…
going patoh with hubby now…
Underdogs……
Blackmask,
hmmm… i have not wagered a single cent this euro championships and i reckoned i was lucky i didnt… else might be freaking broke by now.. hee hee
However, i have always favoured the underdogs in any match during world cups or euro championships…(and underdogs do have their day and the payout is much much better.. ha)
I sure hope greece wins tomorrow morning cause i bloody hate the french.. so full of themselves… lets hope the greeks do a trojan horse on them….
so my advice is.. dun bet… spend the wager on beer and nuts and enjoy the spectacle…
cheers
egomango
not the only one
so i’m not the only one around who will choose the “scram” option…
for colleagues or people whom I don’t really know all that well, I will adopt gummi’s anti-social way of avoiding contact… i.e. walk slower or faster or take another route… haha…
but sometimes I just tend to walk without really looking at other people’s faces closely… usually adopting the “I’m busy, don’t approach me” look on my face / body language… very ‘dao’ hor?
just read Streats… analysing the match between France & Greece tomorrow morning… very tempted to buy the 1st/2nd half double bet: France (1st half)- Draw (2nd half)… payout is 1:11.
any good advice, pokemon, eugene?? hehe…
Confession…
yes, i wrote the “before i go off for the day”.. realised i forgot to sign off after i published the entry, but was was too lazy to log back in again as the lure of home was too great.
trust my worthy opponent for tomorrow’s world championship to point me out.. must be extra vigilant tomorrow else will fall prey to her attacks.
alice, think our roles getting reversed. you staying much later than me nowadays. hee hee.
i am also guilty of the hi-bye syndrome, but not towards any untouchables yet.. well maybe some. usually it’s colleagues whom i meet on the way to and fro between mrt and office. Quite a long walk, you see. So if nothing to say can be quite a awkward walk. so it’s either take another route or slow down / speed up. generally termed as anti-social behaviour.
lastly, pokemon, i just learnt yesterday that some of my colleagues are involved in the NDP with you.. the world is so small.

Why things go wrong… …
Hello conquerer of citylink…
I was just browsing the entries and your sharing on things going wrong caught my eye…
I agree with you that things seldom turn out the way we hoped for… no matter how hard we try.. the divine just has a way of turning the tables on us.. ha…
However, arent we lucky that things seldom turn out the way we hoped for? else there would be no need for human intervention in life. No need for you or me to be around to try and make things right… So we are lucky that in life the only plain sailing you get is before you sail into a storm… ha…
–> i will make it a point not to “scram” if i ever bump into you on the streets so that you can have a good look at my girlfriend…. he he
on second thoughts… i never did and never will scram from any untouchables…

On the Euro match this morn, i think the england coach should be bloody killed..
3 stupid subsitutions that handed the match to portugal….
why vassell when he could have brought on hargreves to left midfield and pushed paul scholes to forward?
why take out gerrard of all people? the best england player on the field?
why not take out an ineffective vassell and not paul scholes?

Wrong Twice
Dear Pokemon,
You got it wrong twice in a day. First of course, it’s your prediction of the results of England vs Portugal. But really, it is not too far from the facts. At least Owen scored, and you did put a disclaimer that the goals will not deviated too much from your predictions.
2nd mistake, I didn’t write the entry ” Before I Leave for the Day…” lor. Was still at office at abt that time lah. I think maybe apple wrote it.
Apple, remember to sign off next time, k?
Agree with Eugene, pleasantly surprised by the flood of entries. Keep it going.
Alice
Hi-bye
Yixing, i know it was you when people come and tell me that i’ve bought whole of Singapore during GSS. Let me put the record right… i bought only the whole of City Link and not whole of Singapore…. dont you know shopping is the best remedy for stress release?
Like what i told pokemon yesterday, it really take 2 hands to clap…i may have felt that i just met you yesterday but you may not have felt the same way… anyway, shd i say sorry that i have unknowingly made you feel weird? i suppose not. i think we are old enough friends to be not bothered with this.
i dont know, i think i wld have also just do the hi-bye even if i were to meet pokemon and his wife, or if i were to meet Eugene and his girlfriend, except that i may linger a little bit longer with eugene and gf to have a good look at his girlfriend… heeeee (no lah, Eugene, just that me suay ku lah never met your gf before lah)
but at least i wld not… oh its him/her, better scram….
………………..
Sometimes, life is really tiring…. you had wanted things to happen in the best manner and you seriously and sincerely thought that you have done things in the correct direction and with the kindest intention, but yet the outcome sometimes is really just the opposite and caught you by surprise… and we start to ask the big question WHY? and many at times, there is no answer to this WHY…. (Yixing, this para is nothing to do with you what you’ve said) and you continue with the mess….
TGIF, i’m looking forward to a dinner tonite and especially tomorrow 11am. No its not euro quaterfinals delayed or brought forward, its world championship…

I can always blame it on Rooney’s injury on the 29th minute.

And David Beckham missing the penalty AGAIN…

Human instinct
In response to YX’s hi and bye question….
My take is that it is human instinct to be non confrontational or choose the path of least resistance… like water or electricity…
When faced with decisions, humans tend to instinctively choose the easier way out.. the simpler choice, go with the flow, dun trouble trouble until trouble toubles you…
I must admit i am guilty of the better scram syndrome too… why acknowledge the friend and give myself the uphill task of making small talk? However, i always feel bad after that… ha ha…

England vs Portugal tonight
Met up with Alice for lunch and the topic of Euro came up. As usual, I was trying to convince, without much success *LOL*, that I had predicted beforehand that Czech is going to be a hot one.
Everything seems so fine on hindsight.
Therefore I’m going to offer my predictions before the match this time round.
+++++
Hmm…
England’s got a cock-up goalkeeper. Confirmed liability sooner or later. Not likely to keep clean sheet.
Portugal hitting form but I think England will score more.
Portugal 2 – England 3
England win. Owen to score finally.
England score first, Portugal catch up with one through Nuno Gomes. England scores another. And then another. Then Figo scores via freekick. Score 3-2
Don’t put money on this one…it’s going to be close

Which pokemon am I?
My good friend from the same faculty shoots small screen video (oh no xiao dian ying
for a living…
yixing from home
today is my off day! so, i am actually writing this from the comfort of home.
well, not really so comfortable……
after scanning through the new entries, meiping’s “sometimes” entry caught my attention. i met her like some weeks back, it was the first day of GSS, she was carrying quite a few bags(i am sure by the time she went home, there would be more bags!):P
anyway, i feel kind of weird, our conversation didn’t really take up to 5mins( righto? meiping?) and linda did comment after we part, our conversation like so “hi-bye”.
and i thought, what the heck, seems like these days, meeting old friends can mean two things. one, “oh its him/her, can’t remember his/her name. better scram..” and two, “oh its him/her, should i call him/her? hmm…. quite tired now, dun really want to talk. better scram.”
but of course, these situations are for those that you don’t really know too well.
but but, in a total sum of the emotions experienced, it is surrealistic and it doesn’t really make you feel good and its make me ask myself the big question “WHY”.
i guess all of us would have 101 answers to that but i am just asking it out loud again.
it seems that all the things we don’t want to grow up into or all the kind of scenarios we don’t want to happen, will happen and is already happening.
well well, reflections…..
………
wow! just a few hours & i see a whole lot of new entries.
Way to go, people!!
just as what alice said, this is really a good dose of morning/afternoon/evening coffee…
talk about coffee… reminds me of Jacky Cheung’s song “ka1 fei1″… haven’t listened to that for a while, got to go back & play it again… it’s a great song!! you guys should try to listen to it!! (he should pay me for the free advert! ha!)
anyway, just heard that one of my new colleagues’ daughter (very young) just passed away suddenly… some flu symptoms initially, & then suddenly aggravated & took her life… (wonder if it’s SARS?!?)…. sent home a message that life’s so unpredictable that one should cherish every waking hour & day… u never know when u or your loved ones would one day suddenly go…
SZ
to all: cherish yourself, your life & of ‘coz your loved ones…
Its a Bee uu ti fuuu day!
People!
I am glad that this blog has caught on with more and more people and the entries are coming in fast and furious…
It is heart warming to see a seed grow into a sapling… lets hope we can keep this going and grow a tree… with deep roots and a strong trunk.. lots of branches and leaves and yes maybe even flowers and fruits… he he
In this time of global insecurity, beheadings and rising petrol prices…
What can we hold onto with comfort and warmth? Try friendship and family…
Keep the flame alive… “le spirit du fur” – something like that la.. forgot liao

Council Diary Found At Void Deck
Singapore — Saucy details on the lives of the 19th Students Council were revealed when their council diary was found at void deck A yesterday.
From the bra cup sizes of the ladies, to the numerous multi-triangle relationships, the whole of Hwa Chong witness the drama unfold as pages after pages of soul-baring diary entries tell the story.
“This is better than Survivor … much better than the Bachelor,” said Mr Chau Kay Poh, 18, who found the diary and revealed its existence to the entire school.
A councillor who decline to be named, said it is a tradition to keep entries in the council diary which is kept in the council room at all times. However, they had recently started using the free public notepads provided by the school.
As part of a new community bonding scheme, the school had provided two thousand notepads for students to write and share their personal diaries. These diaries may be checked out by anyone but must be returned to the central storage at Void Deck A by 5 pm each day.
“We do know that the diary is for public viewing, but after some time, I guess we just sort of forgotten about it as the diary is always in the council room, just like the old days,” said the councillor.
“Who would have thought that our diary will be found among the thousands of diaries out there? Now everyone knows that I’m gay!”
Things may be worse than just a few bruised egos. The school is allegedly investigating some councillors for contempt of teachers, truancy, road signs theft amongst other 243 offenses.
When asked whether he regretted revealing the diary of the council, who called themselves “untouchables”, Mr Chau said:
“Untouchables? They are all touchables.”

My good friend can still remember the lyrics of the college anthem…
Sometimes…..
Sometimes, we bump into old friends….
Sometimes, we can resume conversation as if we just met each other yesterday
Sometimes, we can’t even hold a conversation for 5 minutes….
For the latter, it’s either we work harder so that we can resume conversation the next time or we just pray we dont meet again…. hahahaha………..
answer
Dear Gummi,
You’ve already got the answer. Creating a new post is much better and convenient for everyone.
The comments feature is for users who want to say something but cannot publish it here. ie. passerby A who fell in love with Eugene’s eloquency and wanted to meet up with him, can just add a new comment.
So for all of us who can post, we should create a new post. Easier and more visible.

Question: comment or new post
which is better and easier to see? i’m not entirely sure how this thing works best… but it appears that creating a new post is more effective cos everyone will know there’s something new written.
but if i post a comment to a certain existing entry, then unless you are in that particular post you will not get to see the entry, yah?
someone pls enlighten me.
************
i met a colleague while walking from MRT to office this morning. She’s quite a close colleague but recently we have been too busy to really talk. and perhaps it’s been so long.. we sort of ran out of new topics.. all we talk about, or rather, complain about, is work. Anyway, i saw her this morning and she was her usual self, in a brisk walk towards office. So I told her she seemed very motivated to work, walking so fast and all.. she gave me an incredulous look and said ” I’m very stressed, can’t you tell?”
I mentioned something about stress can be a motivation as well… and she turned and said “we are of different frequency”..
*********
not sure why i wanted to share with you all the above
encounter… only that it’s sort of left a deep impression on me. so i just “document” it here…

You are not alone……
Alice,
You are not alone.
I dare say that most people drift through life without knowing what they really want to achieve.
They just chase their tails every waking hour until they drop dead… .. sooner or later…
Sad but true.
Only the fortunate few really know what they want and lead a truly blessed life trying to achieve it.
Nevertheless, most people fall in the chase the tail category… my take is that instead of trying to discern one main objective to achieve, take things bite size… work the little things in life… you will be surprised that the sum of all the small things add up more than its whole.
5 cents worth…

I was sharing with some of the gals today, that I have been questioning myself what I really wanna achieve in life, and I just dun seem to be able to find the answer. And of course, I am now in that mode where there are things waiting to be completed but I m here write entries…
Ok, enough of my nonsense, really make no sense. Next better player.

Greetings….one and all
Helloooo people…
nice to check in again… wanted to do so earlier but spent my weekend catching on lost sleep… haa haa
some how… cant seem to catch up on the sleep count still feel sleepy after sleeping so much…
=====================================
yesterday was father’s day and i would like to take this opportunity to wish all fathers a happy fathers day… remember that it takes patience to be a dad.. so hang in there all fathers…
i for one is blessed with a great dad and i hope all dads in this world can be great in their children’s eyes…
=====================================
Gummi’s entry made me think of how it would be like to be in all your shoes…
eating lunch in a messy cubicle and stuff… and spending all working hours working and nothing else…
Upon reflection, i think i am doing less and less of that… i mean spending all my official working time working officially… ha ha.. somehow.. a different culture has taken root in my workspace.. i seem to work less…and spend more time making work less…(i dun mean pushing work away… work still gets done..) interesting…didnt realize that until now.. i find myself sometimes in a cafe in orchard during working hours.. abeit still discussing work.. but hugely interspersed with jokes and loose talk…or huddled on a grass patch in pasir ris park at two in the afternoon daydreaming about new ideas and concepts… or sometimes drinking beer at some joint at four in the afternoon talking about everything under the sun but work… hmmm strange.. less time seem to be spent working but work still gets done…morale rises (eyebrows too), relationships flourish and team spirit strives….
food for thought….

cheers

finally….from gummi
hi all! I decide to follow Mr Tang’s way of posting and put my name right in the title.. hee hee…
didn’t check my yahoo account very often, so usually a bit slow in getting information… but never mind, late better than never… plus with our monday badminton sessions resuming, i should be able to get weekly updates from the usual gang.. btw, attention badminton players! i’ve booked the TPCC badminton court for 5 Jul as well.. 8-10. all are welcome.
read through the previous entries while having packed lunch at my messy cubicle… a bit like eating in the messy council room with the diary, hor? haha! of course that time most prob got people fighting over the possession of the book, and lots more wu li tou entries in there… perhaps at this moment someone else is reading this blog too. just that i don;t know…
noticed that a lot of you enter this space in the night time, before / after euro matches.. hee hee.. no such luck for me… no scv so didn’t get to watch.. btw, for those who follow the matches closely: spain and france got chance to win? cos i bet on them…
anyone else coming back to singapore? cos i want to plan a trip out of singapore after july.. last year i went to france and ML came back when i was away.. a bit sala.. ok, ML, i mean myself not you, ok?
and westy came back from spain also that time while i was just beside spain.. so was trying to avoid such situations…
YX: what’s happening to the nepal trip? you still keen on going? let me know so i can save some leave.. hee hee..
okay, lunch time over now.. have to go work.. i’m like SZ, love my job so much that i don’t do anything else during official working hours and just concentrate on working…
bye!
eugene: forgot to thank you for initiating this… noticed that everyone mentioned thanks to you so i thought i better do the same or else you bar me from this site.. ha ha!!

Dewei: regarding Morpheus
Mmm… relating to ML’s entry…. let me the matrix fan explain… a lot of names in matrix has meanings, they are either taken from greek mythology or religious stories… Morpheus is the god of dream – that’s why he woke Neo (keeanu reeves) up from his “dream” in the matrix world… Then you unscamble Neo’s name and it is “One” – Neo is the One….
There are supposingly other religious/historical/mythical things that the Matrix uses… but i won’t bore u all… ha ha…

Hi guys!
Hello people,
Nice to see the steadily rising number of entries.
Fatherhood, well, is a life changing experience. Can’t really describe it. Wonder how Kangyu is coping. Think we should sit to exchange some notes, perhaps form a support group for new fathers.
I am out of IMH for my internal med rotation. Busier, but strange as it seems, it’s more fulfilling. Enough of the bizarre for the time being.
Take care and have a good night.
Yours, WL
does this bring back memories or what…

In the middle of the night…………
Welcome on board alice…. nice to hear from you..
Anyway, taking a break in between the euro matches and decided to come in and see if there are any developments in the blog…
life is full of surprises… “today minister announced that the national service duration will be shortened to 2 yrs from the original 2.5 yrs…” …. progress? you decide.
========================================
Wonder if ppl like westy knows about this blog… hmm.. yo everyone who reads this… please spread the word around to all untouchables so that we can all partake in sharing on the blog..
========================================
Sharing……… a word that recently entered my life.. ha ha
it barged in thru my work … nowadays, its very popular to here this word sharing..
instead of saying “lets sit down and talk” we now say “lets sit down and share”
2 similar statements with distinctly different feel…
Talk seems to mean everyone saying what they want to say and no one listening to each other. Where sharing gives the sense of listening and speaking from the bottom of the heart…
A shift in values maybe….a profound change from within
lets hope everyone shares more and talk less….
cheers

Change in mind
I like my job! It has been quite a bit trying initially… now I’m slowly beginning to like it… hopefully I will grow to love it… I’m definitely giving myself time to get accustomed to my new kind of job… think there’ll be good potential (in terms of $$$ & job satisfaction)in the future! HSBC Insurance is undoubtedly a very big & good employer! A career with them can’t go wrong…
alice: nvm… it also took me a while (very short while tho’) to figure out how to post my 1st message! hehe!
anybody apllied for the NDP tickets? I did! wonder if i’m lucky enough to get it… actually was just trying my luck… if I get it, then maybe i should try buying more toto next time! haha.
Sua Gu Alice
Hello, cos of the change in job, I didn’t manage to know abt this blogger thingy till last Sat. Though I heard abt the NDP blogger thingy on tv, never know what is really is till today, really so sua gu. Plus took me abt 1/2 hr to read through the entries, in between my work, to find out how to use this thing. Sigh!!!! Can’t agree more that age is catching and I m losing touch with technology….
SZ, dun put ur comments of ur job here leh(unless it is something positive), it is not private leh, so whole world can see u know…
I watched Harry Potter 3 too. Still think the book is better, and I think so far I like Book 3 the best…
Ok, just dropping a line to let u know I am ard. And I think it is a wonderful idea too cos I can’t icq or yahoo anymore too….

Hello all
Can someone give me the proper definition of “blogging”?
Anyway, Eugene, thanks for initiating this and revitalizing communication. I was in Singapore recently and have made several unsuccessful attempts to reach you on your HP.
Kelvin, glad to hear that you’ve made your decision with the PhD thingy. Enjoy the process.
Did not get the chance to meet most of you during my recent trip home. Hope things are well and do keep me posted on anything newsworthy. Will be back sometime next year. Our home is open for anyone who would like to come to Seattle for a visit,
Cheers,
Hanjie

hi all
this blogging thingy is a wonderful idea. Eugene, thanks for the initiative. But of ‘coz what’s left now is to hope that we all will make full use of this communication platform & be active in it…
anyway, i’m currently in HK… undergoing training/finding out more about my new job…
for those who don’t know yet, I’ve left my ex-company, Gen Re, now i’m with HSBC Insurance… job scope not exactly the same… quite different really… so now having quite a trying time coming to terms with the new job scope, the gigabytes of info to absorb….
the worst part is… i’m not even sure if this is really what i want…
don’t foresee that i’ll be very happy in this job in the long term leh… hai… anyway, will try to give myself a bit more time to figure out… either “manage my expectations”… or initiate some changes so that i won’t be stuck on doing something i don’t enjoy… albeit making $$$ is still the main goal (at this point in time)…
weilun, congrats! ryan is nice name… ![]()
when can we have a chance to meet him?
being a parent is really a big step to take… but i’ve never heard anyone regretting having made that decision so far… ![]()
Enjoy parenthood!!
OK, folks, gotta go back to my absorbing those gigabytes of info…
ttyl
Cheers!

the first gal…
hullo,
i shall take the lead in encouraging the gals to start blogging:-)
well, Eugene, if you are looking for someone who’s not grumbling about work and life, here i am! Very satisfied and happy with my life at the present moment.
WL, how’s fatherhood? Are you still at IMH? I’m currently working quite closely with some of the psychiatrists from IMH in planning some mental health services.
Great initiative, Eugene! really reminds me of the council diary days.
take care everyone! anyone auditioning for the S’pore Idol? Ha!

Something interesting…
i read in another blog that one company used something like a blog for information retention and disemmination throughout a project and managed to have savings in time (25%) and volume of mails.
interesting. advantages highlighted were that everyone knew the latest updates and previous versions so that no miscommunication happened. Also, history to arguments and decisions were recorded in chronological order and hence no one had any misconceptions in the work process. Hmm… this might actually work given that miscommunication is common in the workplan as well as the phenomenon of peoples using wrong / outdated versions.
just to share

Of Grumpy man and woman
so it seem, as passion fades or idealism creeps into a small corner,
stark reality starts to struck all innocent man and woman of this society.
hoping that this wouldn’t turn into a complain corner, cos’ complaint can’t change much,
or so it seems.
and you’re right eugene, expectations need to managed but,
if we pause and think hard, expectations are never born to be managed.
Else, what is there to expect?
anyway, i was just trying to concur to this similar sentiments that i felt, especially
this year. hazy thoughts and de-motivated soul kind of feeling.
but, i realised also, change is the way to go! Change your habits, change your habitual way of life, some sparks will hopefully ignite along the way.
i still can’t imagine weilun feeding a clone of himself……

Yo yo yo…
Hello weilun!
nice to hear from you again! hehe.. yap its not easy being a father…i have thought about it and frankly… it gives me shivers… anyway i am still unmarried yet ha ha so children is still a distant reality… but i have seen many transitions… my collegues who became fathers.. the change in them…well, i cant say whether the change is good or bad but there is a change.. the focal point of life changes… now thats nuff of parenthood…
People!!!
just got back from a short drink at pualner brahaus..(i am sure i got the spelling wrong but what the heck)… met with a few of my collegues from my previous camp who were quite disgruntled with work and life… ha ha.. seems like no one is happy… that set me thinking… are they all screwed or are they just bad at managing expectations…
then again… managing expections seem to equal bluffing oneself… to settle for less…
none the wiser…
day in day out i meet people… day in day out i hear them grumble….
inner thoughts … when will i meet a satisfied and happy person?
hmmm…is there a genuine grumble or is it just us?
food for thought…

Hello all!
Dear friends,
Thanks Eugene, for taking the initiative for this.
So far, been rather busy settling into my new posting and getting used to being a father. Getting the hang of nappy changing and feeding. But still need to get used to the strange ritual of burping the little fella after his feeds. Mum’s quite kind to help me take care of him this week while we get some rest.
Will put up some of his pics when I have the time.
Okay, take care and have a good week ahead.
Yours sincerely, weilun
My first contribution
blogging is a cool idea, but i jus dunno with all the yahoo egroups and stuff,
will all these little strands of mail get lost somehow in cyberspace
somehow, i got this feeling that the age-old council dairy with hardcover and crisp pages
works better, but of course, we move along with times……
anyway, i have got one question to raise. whatever happens to the photos thingy?
and i would really like to catch a glimpse of weilun’s bb, weilun, when is ryan turning
one?? or when are you uploading some pix for us to see???

Teething thoughts……
Dear untouchables……
thought that it might be a good idea to start this blog for all of us to key in our random thoughts whenever they decide to pop into our heads.. be it related to the untouchables or not…
Let this be a rallying point for the untouchables… for us to network and have fun!
so let those thoughts start rolling in…
whatever, whenever…
blog it…
